While not a pattern, this Art Deco-era cover from Patons & Baldwin proves that needlecraft magazines needn't be ugly or designed with the lowest common denominator in mind. It is utterly gorgeous and geared towards the modern crafter. Crochet! magazine, please take note.

AHC1976Sisalbaskets

I love these baskets shown in American Home Crafts from 1976. They are lovely and sculptural and I hope to post my completed one when, well, when it's complete. The directions do say that the style of crocheting with sisal twine is more aggressive, and they weren't kidding.
